Hello,
my name is Tana Elise
and Hypnotherapy
saved my life.
We all have a story… this is mine.
Growing up in rural Michigan in the 90s, I never imagined my life’s work to be in personal or spiritual growth. By the time I graduated High School, my closest consideration of “self-development” was found as I casually flipped through a copy of Dale Carnegie’s ‘How To Win Friends And Influence People’ in the aisle of a small town used book store.
As I entered college, everything changed. The sudden loss of my brother to suicide turned my whole world upside down overnight. Nothing was the same. My connection to my family was strained, friendships became awkward, interest in my studies was non-existent, and my relationship to myself…Well, I knew I needed help.
Talk therapy works wonders for many, but over the months that followed, I struggled to find a therapist whose office felt warm and aligned enough to be considered a safe home, and the idea of going on mood-altering medications felt like a last resort. When a friend’s mother shared her referral for a Hypnotherapist who helped her work through the grief from her recent divorce, I was skeptical, but willing to give it a try.
So, I signed up for a six-session package with a Hypnotherapist named Dale.
Working with Dale changed my entire outlook on life. Fully and completely. After only two sessions, I felt grounded in my body for the first time in months, and by the time my six-session package ended, I knew without a doubt that I was making one of the best decisions of my life.
I could see the change, I could feel it — and even though my future was uncertain, I knew I’d only scratched the surface. I kept going to sessions with Dale for months—not because I had to, but because I could feel something powerful unfolding.
Hypnotherapy had cracked something open in me, and after college, I followed that spark by moving to Los Angeles — not knowing what the next chapter held, only that I couldn’t shrink back into who I’d been.
Moving to a new city means making new connections, but I didn’t expect so many people to resonate with my story. From casual chats with coworkers to heartfelt conversations with strangers, it seemed like everyone was carrying something, and they wanted to know how I’d worked through mine. Every time, I found myself talking about the sessions with Dale. Those conversations became more frequent, more honest, and I started to realize I wasn’t just telling my story. I was being called to something deeper.
Eventually, people began to say, in no uncertain terms: “You should be doing this work.”
I listened.
I enrolled in the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, the first hypnotherapy college to become nationally accredited in the U.S. There, I immersed myself in over two years of intensive study in the subconscious mind, therapeutic techniques, and client care. In 2016, I graduated as a Certified Hypnotherapist, and have been gathering additional certifications in a variety of holistic healing modalities, and walking alongside others in their healing and transformation journeys ever since.
This path chose me most unexpectedly — through loss, through struggle, through learning to listen inward when everything outside went quiet.
If you’ve found your way here, maybe your story is still unfolding, too.
And if any part of mine resonates with you, I’d be honored to help you rediscover your own strength, clarity, and wholeness — one step, one breath, one session at a time.
